My mother(board) is back

Today I received my motherboard back from warranty repair. The total time from when I shipped it out to when I got it back was about two weeks.
The board is an ASUS P6T SE that I bought last year for a home build I was starting. The computer stopped working about two weeks ago when I was trying to rig up a DIY fan setup on the CPU syncs. After maybe being a little too... textured the computer failed to display anything on the screen, and it didn't seem to be booting to boot. I am not too sure what happened but I am pretty sure the motherboard was the issue. I tried three different video cards and two different monitors, so I know those werent the cause. Nonetheless I am going to rebuild my desktop tonight that will go nicely in the office I have been putting together. I plan on mapping the entire home directory to my home server that I have set up. I am hoping this isn't a huge bottle neck. My thinking is if the computers are networked at a gigabit than that will be faster than the speed of the hard drives in the server. Additionally the computer is going to have a solid state drive for the OS/programs, and a three single plater hard drive RAID 0 for its local data drive. The only data I am planning on storing locally are caches, image renderings, page file, temps, etc.
Hopefully I will have sometime to clean with post up

Steve Jobs should be kissing HTML5's ass

Too bad the masses wouldn't realize why for at least a year or so.

Everyone should take a look at this.

I need to get a camera back in my hands

The past two years have been to much work and not enough play (especially the last year). I remember when I played as much as I worked, sadly work has taken the forefront. I've been going home, way too soon; not going out, way too much. Things are going to start to change, I am slowly going to reclaim my life back.

First up, I am putting together a server. The one that I have been wanting to put together since 2008 when my friend, Julian, left for Iraq. So much for that. Back then I wanted a server to organize and backup my photos in a structured way. Now I have a few more things in mind for it. I'll try and document what I do with it on my other blog http://peep.james.posterous.com

second, I don't have a camera that makes me want  to take pictures anymore. Yea I have the D1h (woohoo) and I have the S95 point and shoot, which is awesome for a point and shoot (but its still a point and shoot), and of course I have my f100 (35mm) which I am stupid for not using. Maybe if I actually develop the last 3 rolls of film, I'll get excited and want to make more.

Third, Padfoot (my dog) is 19 weeks old today. I still haven't weighed him today, I will though. I always weigh him on Saturdays because that's the day he was born.

Killen's Pond

Here’s a look back on my camping trip with my cousins this weekend. We went from getting the park ranger to rifle through about 200 envelopes in the parking payment box, to buttering up the old lady at check in, to making good friends with an old man that cuts wood.

This is how Puppies stay warm after a bath.

I just got home from camping a few hours ago. Padfoot and I were both over due for a bath; no ticks for Padfoot! Unfortunately I can not say the same. More on that later.

Jesus Christmas B&H. As a matter of fact almost 700 pages of it.

I just checked my mail to find this tome of a catalog. B&H is hunting for the kill this holiday.

I love my car

The check engine light has been on for two weeks. I know what's wrong, I just don't think it needs fixing. I can live with her running like shit, just as long as she's running. Hopefully she'll stay with me for another year.

My engine like has been on for the last two weeks. I know what is wrong but think it can go without fixing; I think I'm going to run her into the ground. Hopefully she last a year.
