I feel better when the winter's gone.

Last week the weather started to turn for the better. I took Padfoot to the park and he played in the sand for the first time, he went nuts. In 9 days I’m going on a cruise to Florida and the Bahamas with my girlfriend, Christina.

My mother(board) is back

Today I received my motherboard back from warranty repair. The total time from when I shipped it out to when I got it back was about two weeks.
The board is an ASUS P6T SE that I bought last year for a home build I was starting. The computer stopped working about two weeks ago when I was trying to rig up a DIY fan setup on the CPU syncs. After maybe being a little too... textured the computer failed to display anything on the screen, and it didn't seem to be booting to boot. I am not too sure what happened but I am pretty sure the motherboard was the issue. I tried three different video cards and two different monitors, so I know those werent the cause. Nonetheless I am going to rebuild my desktop tonight that will go nicely in the office I have been putting together. I plan on mapping the entire home directory to my home server that I have set up. I am hoping this isn't a huge bottle neck. My thinking is if the computers are networked at a gigabit than that will be faster than the speed of the hard drives in the server. Additionally the computer is going to have a solid state drive for the OS/programs, and a three single plater hard drive RAID 0 for its local data drive. The only data I am planning on storing locally are caches, image renderings, page file, temps, etc.

Hopefully I will have sometime to clean with post up

Steve Jobs should be kissing HTML5's ass

Too bad the masses wouldn't realize why for at least a year or so.

Everyone should take a look at this.

I need to get a camera back in my hands

The past two years have been to much work and not enough play (especially the last year). I remember when I played as much as I worked, sadly work has taken the forefront. I've been going home, way too soon; not going out, way too much. Things are going to start to change, I am slowly going to reclaim my life back.

First up, I am putting together a server. The one that I have been wanting to put together since 2008 when my friend, Julian, left for Iraq. So much for that. Back then I wanted a server to organize and backup my photos in a structured way. Now I have a few more things in mind for it. I'll try and document what I do with it on my other blog http://peep.james.posterous.com

second, I don't have a camera that makes me want  to take pictures anymore. Yea I have the D1h (woohoo) and I have the S95 point and shoot, which is awesome for a point and shoot (but its still a point and shoot), and of course I have my f100 (35mm) which I am stupid for not using. Maybe if I actually develop the last 3 rolls of film, I'll get excited and want to make more.

Third, Padfoot (my dog) is 19 weeks old today. I still haven't weighed him today, I will though. I always weigh him on Saturdays because that's the day he was born.
